It snowed in New York just the day before, but still, Tommy Hilfiger added insult to injury when he shipped truckloads of artificial snow into the Park Avenue Armory to create a makeshift ski resort for his Fall 2014 collection. All was forgiven, however, as soon as the models hit the powder. To a killer soundtrack (Bob Dylan, the Black Keys, and Smashing Pumpkins had heads bobbing in the stands), they channeled "punk ski bunny" perfectly with navy striped plaid shirts under matching bomber jackets, bare legs, and shearling wedges. We particularly loved the last two looks, plaid mohair blanket dresses that looked just like the oversized tartan throws you'd want to cuddle up with fireside. Of course, Tommy added utility to his pieces – wide-banded goggles, bungee-cord button holes and drawstrings, and polished speedlock hooks – that made us wonder if they might actually be useful for not just après-ski, but for a serious day at the slopes.
