Why she did it: Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes are huge celebrity fans of the brand. It’s made with caviar. ‘Nuff said.
How crazy is it on a scale from one to Kim Kardashian’s blood facial?: 1.5. I’m convinced it’s the easiest mask on the planet, because it’s not really a mask (more on that below). Bonus: It won’t scare off your boyfriend like this bad boy our Style Director Andrea Lavinthal tested earlier this year.
This stuff is a mini facial in a bottle. It’s more of a high-power supercream than a mask. No weird smells. No stickiness. No scrubbing required to remove it.
All you have to do is dab nickel-size amounts of the cream around your face. Then you take the brush and blend it in. Last step: Massage the skin in downward circular motions to make sure you get all that moisture locked in.
This product is the newest addition to the brand’s Skin Caviar collection. And I know what you’re thinking: Why would I want to rub caviar, aka salt-cured fish eggs, all over my face? I was too. Basically, it’s meant to enhance the firmness and elasticity of your skin so lines appear finer and your overall face texture is smoother. And after just a few uses, my skin felt as smooth as a baby’s you-know-what.
The verdict: It smells amazing (hints of floral, but mainly the fresh cream scent), leaves your skin super-soft and I feel like I’m definitely looking younger than my 26 years. (I know I’m starting to sound like that lady behind the beauty counter at Bloomingdales — or like I’ve been drinking the Kool-aid — but I’m speaking from experience here!). But if I’m going to spend $300, I’d rather spend it on something that makes me look amazing rather than a pair of shoes that do nothing to prevent future wrinkles. And in the spirit of being completely honest, this mask was given to me to try, and even if it wasn’t, I’d spend the money. (I don’t say that about everything!).
Plus, for the $300, you get 20 uses (think 20 facials), and you only have to use it once a week depending on your skin type. So if you have oilier skin, just think of the savings?
It’s going on my Christmas list, and I’m planning to be very, very good until then. I recommend you do the same.
