Police in Kansas are asking for the public’s help in identifying a car they allege was used in the abduction and sexual assault of an off-duty sheriff’s deputy, PEOPLE confirms.
A statement from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department alleges the female deputy was forced into a car on Friday night as she was walking through a parking lot. According to the statement, the deputy — whose name has not been released publicly — was on her way into work at the detention center in Olathe at the time of the alleged abduction.
The deputy, who has been with the sheriff’s department for about six months, did not know her two alleged captors and was not in uniform at the time, according to the statement.
The deputy managed to free herself two hours later in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, the statement says.
On Sunday, police released video showing the car they believed was utilized in the abduction.
The car is described as a dark blue, four-door Mazda.

Police have not released a description of the persons of interest, but sheriff’s office spokeswoman Darla Jaye described them as men in their 20s, according to the Kansas City Star.
Jaye said the men allegedly followed the deputy from a QuikTrip convenience for 1.5 miles before allegedly abducting her, the paper reports.
