Amy Smilovic's Spring '17 lineup is quintessentially on brand for Tibi. What I mean by that, you'll find the collection's staples - minimalist silhouettes and contemporary crops - pieces that let you move and do things. Stylish flourishes are present, but done with restraint, like a ruffled neckline on a silk, free-flowing tunic or a floral print to brighten up an understated cut.
This season, Amy tells the same story and appeals to the same customer, but she's inviting us past the pared-down looks of Fall. The highlights were the nipped in waists and layered corsets over dresses and button-downs that were decidedly more feminine than season's past. The color palette, too, was a bright spot, with shades of robin's egg blue, green, citrus, and red - an uncomplicated collection painted with a saturated palette. Wider crops were traded for fresh proportions that put the emphasis not just on the waist, but on exaggerated pant legs, shoulders, and oversized sleeves. Fitted skirts and crop tops featured prominently, giving a sexier tilt than we're used to from the brand, but all still crafted with the same Tibi DNA.
