In 2012, Claire Distenfeld opened Fivestory, an Upper East Side boutique that sold the kinds of high-end pieces hard to find anywhere else. Last year, the store unveiled an expansion — and doubled-down on accessories, which sold best — and, as of today, it's officially launched e-commerce.
The glossy site features a wide selection from Alexander Wang, Edie Parker, Gianvito Rossi, and Delfina Delettrez, as well as a "top 5" category highlighting top-selling and user-favorite items. (Our favorites include these lace-up Aquazzura sandals, Nora Kogan's boob ring, and Khai Khai's monster necklace.)
"What I have realized while building a digital experience in relation to a physical one is that there are many similarities," Distenfeld says. "I wanted the act of going to our website to feel like sitting in your favorite hotel lobby ... the ambiance, the colors, and the imagery should be relaxing and luxurious."
