We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her newest show, Tabatha Takes Over, which is in its fifth season! And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch each week to dish on some of the best – and worst – celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!
Today, she takes on Matthew McConaughey, who ditched his cowboy boots for a plaid suit at N.Y.C.’s Mud premiere.
FINALLY! Finally I get to critique a man for PEOPLE StyleWatch and it is someone I absolutely love: Mr. Matthew McConaughey. Too bad he isn’t wearing something fabulous.
What is this clown suit he’s wearing? And what’s up with this ridiculous backdrop? Is he promoting something at the circus?
I’m actually surprised he is wearing a suit of this nature. I would say 99 percent of the time I see him on the red carpet or caught on camera (with a shirt on, anyway) he is well dressed and on trend. Why in the world did Camilla Alves let him leave the hotel looking like this? Such a shame.
If I passed him on the street before he walked into the MoMA to promote his new film Mud, I would have pulled him into a nearby men’s store, ripped off that suit and dressed him in a 3-piece navy blue suit. I’d keep the white shirt the way it is, and even consider letting the gold chain stay to keep the jacket closed.
Before sending him back out, I’d rake my fingers through his hair to break up the stiffness of all that product and let his naturally curly hair fall the way it should.
