A bad boyfriend can be a dog, and a petty girlfriend can be catty, and an ugly man can be a toad, and a homely woman can be horsey — but when it comes to actual animals, some women think they're more appealing than a human significant other. In a new study conducted by Brooke animal charity in England, one in ten modern women said that she loves her pet more than her partner.
A third of women said they have equal feelings for their pet and for their partner. Why choose if you don't have to, you know? Just because you marry a man and not your dear pet doesn't mean you can't love them both.
Over half of women answered that they would turn to their pet if they had a fight with their partner (perhaps over pet-related jealousy). The Brooke charity noted that this prioritization of pets cuts across social, economic, and age divisions. True love transcends time and boundaries and reason.
