In this series from Pretty Hurts Week, Petra Collins photographs six New York women as they prepare for their days.
Linda Rodin, founder and creator of the beauty line Rodin Olio Lusso, sleeps as much as she can — nine hours, if possible. “Today, I got up at 11 a.m. If I don’t have to work the next day, and I watch TV late, I’m not getting up for anybody,” she says. “My dog, Winky, follows me to the bathroom. I rinse my face, I put on my face oil, putz around for a few minutes.”
She’s had the same silhouette, and love of denim, since she was young — and is out the door in 20 minutes with Winky. “I put on my jeans and my sweater, and we take a walk and he does his business, and I get my cappuccino. When I get home, I put on lipstick from my own line. At my age I’ve got silver hair, and I think it just adds a little color to my face.”
