Terry Richardson for Harper’s Bazaar
For someone who’s not that into fashion, Sarah Jessica Parker certainly fakes it well. The actress sparkles and shines in couture for the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the magazine’s largest issue ever.
Posing in Chanel, Gucci and Marc Jacobs for the high-fashion spread, the star reveals that after several failed fashion collaborations (including one with Halston in which she confesses, “I really did work for free!”) she’s poised to launch a fabulous, feminine collection with Manolo Blahnik, to be sold at Nordstrom starting in February.

“The shoe business is so exciting because we don’t have to think of black and brown as the only neutrals anymore,” Parker says of her $250 – $450 designs, which will feature bold color combinations and fabrics like grosgrain, inspired by shopping for hair ribbons as a girl. The best part? It was totally her idea — she called up Blahnik CEO George Malkemus on a whim.
Parker’s other big project these days is being a mom to three kids and wife to actor Matthew Broderick. So how does she make marriage work in notoriously challenging Hollywood? “I love Matthew Broderick. Call me crazy, but I love him,” she says. “We can only be in the marriage we are. We’re very devoted to our family and our lives. I love our life. I love that he’s the father of my children, and it’s because of him that there’s this whole other world that I love.”
