Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Blingy Necklaces, Structured Blazers and Crazy-High Slits

In our weekly roundup of the looks that are gaining fashion ground (and the ones losing their style street cred), we saw some serious statement necklaces and stars bringing out their blazers for fall. Plus, one celeb who took the thigh-high slit trend a little too far.

Up: Blingy Necklaces. Scarlett Johansson’s Bulgari stunner (worn to the Under the Skin premiere in Venice) was so eye-catching, we almost didn’t notice that new sparkler she has on her left hand. (More on that HERE!) It added extra punch to her dramatic black gown. Following in ScarJo’s footsteps, Demi Lovato added some oomph to her black separates with a floral-embellished silver necklace at The X Factor Season 3 premiere party in L.A.

Up: Structured Blazers. Proof that Hollywood is ready for fall? The celebs are bringing out their blazers. And this season, they’re selecting more structured toppers. Solange Knowles pairs her two-tone 3.1 Phillip Lim blazer with a printed skirt from the designer’s collection (landing Sept. 15!). And Olivia Wilde ditched the bra underneath hers, pairing it with matching tuxedo pants. Following suit, Cara Delevinge also whipped out the double-stick tape for her white-blazer moment.

Down: Crazy-high slits. When we first saw Kelly step out in this daring skirt, we were a bit worried she’d fallen victim to a wardrobe malfunction. Not only is it crazy high in front, it’s also crazy high in the back. Showcasing the right way to do it: Naomi Watts in her stunning Versace gown at the Diana premiere in London.
