Bill Clinton took a break today from publicly pressuring Chelsea Clinton to produce a grandchild, musing instead about whether she or her mother would make a better president. "Day after tomorrow, my wife because she's had more experience. Over the long run, Chelsea. She knows more than we do about everything," Clinton said. "I feel like I'm going to school every day when we have conversations."
To be fair, it wasn't the former president who raised the issue. He was talking with CNN's Piers Morgan, who seemed to determined to get some Clinton – any Clinton – to declare their candidacy before the end of the interview. The Daily Beast reports that over the course of three panels on Wednesday, Morgan asked Chelsea "Is your mom running for president?" and "Have you ever thought of running for high office?" "Right now, no,” Chelsea answered. "In the future, I don’t know."
Nevertheless, Morgan went on to tell the audience Chelsea "will be your commander in chief," and suggested America Ferrera, who was at the panel, should be her running mate. Chelsea is probably the only woman on the planet who wishes interviewers would stick with rude questions about her baby-making plans.
