Priyanka Chopra is used to putting her face and body on stage, as both an actress and the winner of the Miss World pageant in 2000. As such, the Indian star is also used to coping with the tough body standards women, particularly beauty queens, face.
In a conversation on HuffPost Live, she confirmed what other pageant winners have said before: There is too much pressure to be thin, and it's just unnecessary. "I don't think you need to be thin at all," said Priyanka. "I don't believe in size zero and being completely scrawny. We're not suppose to be scrawny, we're supposed to be rounded and voluptuous and beautiful -- more to hold, right? So I think that's how women should be. Be proud of your body."
Her message echoes the one put forth by Miss America 2008 Kirsten Haglund, who expressed concern over the bodies on display in the Miss USA 2013 pageant, as well as Miss USA 2003 Susie Castillo.
