With the first day of summer just days away, it’s officially time to break out those lighter looks. Helping us navigate through this season’s must-have styles is PEOPLE StyleWatch’s own Maria Menounos. Here she shares what she’s buying (and probably never buying again).
Thinking of trying a new tricky trend? Menounos can relate. The Extra correspondent donned a midriff-baring Alice + Olivia ensemble for the gay pride parade recently — and though she had fun wearing it, she wouldn’t put it in her regular wardrobe rotation.
“I hadn’t done the ‘stomach exposed’ outfit yet and I know it’s a big trend right now,” she explained of the rainbow-striped two-piece dress. “It was ridiculously perfect [for the occasion], so comfy and easy. [But] I would feel a little weird running around town like that. Maybe if I was 24, I would do it, but I try to be a little more conservative.”

While you may not spot her in another crop top, there are a few bold trends she is psyched to wear this season. “I have a great pair of C. Wonder sandals that have lime green gemstones and an [animal] print,” Menounos said of her most recent purchase. “They are a great accessory if you just want to wear plain jean shorts and a tank.”
Speaking of shorts, her search for the perfect pair has ended — with J Brand denim cutoffs. “I was really having a hard time finding a pair of shorts that we’re obnoxiously short or looked too long,” she said. “These were perfect, super cute and comfy.”
And her summer beauty bag is stocked as well. Menounos (who has partnered with Sonicare) counts their toothbrush, Stila Long Wear Lip Color (in “Adorable” and “Serenade”) and Colorscience sunscreen mineral powder (which the star wears on her face, chest and hands when driving) among her must-haves.
