What a difference a year can make! Last April, we were all mourning the loss of Andrew Garfield‘s luxious locks in favor of a closely-shaven style. Mere months later, we were admiring (is that the right word?) his exuberantly bushy beard. And now, we’re staring agape at the latest development in Garfield’s mane evolution: His full, elegant hair, which he has lassoed into the hottest trend in Hollywood, the man bun.

Joining an illustrious be-bunned group of men that includes Harry Styles, Leonardo DiCaprio and Casper Smart, Garfield has a lot to live up to — which is why he’s giving the look his own spin. Rather than the perfectly-groomed updo of, say, Chris Hemsworth, or the sumo-inspired height of a Bradley Cooper — Garfield’s bun is a more casual affair, looking like he wanted to get it off his face so he just loosely tossed it up with the scrunchie he had on his wrist.
Regardless of how you feel about Garfield’s pony moment, we can all agree on one thing: We’re ridiculously jealous of how good his hair looks when he lets it down. Ladies around the world would kill for that kind of texture, frizz-free volume and naturally sun-kissed color, and this guy just has to make a movie about two seventeenth-century Jesuit priests in Japan and he’s got the best hair in Hollywood. (Oh, and AG? You didn’t ask, but we’re volunteering this information anyway: We do not miss that beard. And judging by your recent reunion with on-again, off-again love Emma Stone, she doesn’t either.)
