The Hottest Couples at the Met Gala (We're Looking at You Blake and Ryan!)

Sure the Met Gala is a parade of fashion, but it’s also a parade of love. (Sorry, we had to.) And some of Hollywood’s hottest couples hit the carpet together and literally made us sigh out loud at our desks, because they looked so freakin’ amazing. So take your time and scroll through all the best dressed Met Gala duos below.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Met GalaDavid Fisher/Rex USA

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively: “Could these two be any better looking?” This was the subject of a group email sent around to PeopleStyleWatch.com editors along with this photo of Lively and Reynolds, which naturally led to lots of chatting about how great it is to see these two on the red carpet together (it rarely happens!). Lively channeled an Old Hollywood movie star in a Gucci Première blush gown embroidered with rose gold paillettes and featuring a long train.

“This was a little bit of a departure from Charles James, because he has a lot of petticoats, a lot of graphic, geometric structures,” she told PEOPLE. “This is more of the Charles James times, ’40s and ’50s. I was a little scared to go too Charles James, because he has such iconic shapes and designs that to me if too many people are drawing from the same inspiration everyone’s going to be in the same dress.”

As for all that extra fabric, the actress shared: “I love a train but then when I get on these stairs, I’m like, why am I wearing a train.” “

Her husband also followed suit in Gucci, looking dapper as ever in a custom midnight blue velvet tuxedo and classic bow tie.

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 tour might be winding down, but luckily we got another bonus dose of Stone and Garfield on the red carpet. Stone was an instant pick for our Best Dressed list in her pink crop top and raspberry floor-skimming skirt (both Thakoon). But Garfield was definitely her best accessory, selecting a metallic jacket, black tuxedo pants and a classic bow tie.

David and Victoria Beckham: When these two hit the carpet, it’s impossible not to drop everything you’re doing to just stare. Victoria selected a white strapless design from her own lapel and David matched her accordingly in a white tuxedo jacket. And we know it’s not a family affair, and mom and dad to deserve their date night, but we’d love to see the whole Beckham brood all dressed up. (Just imagine Harper in a ball gown.)

Sean Penn and Charlize Theron: Theron turned to her Instagram account to debut her black-and-white Dior look and major wing ear cuff. And we love how happy she looked next to Penn. (We don’t remember him smiling this big, like, ever.)

Amber Heard and Johnny DeppDimitrios Kambouris/Getty

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard: Never one to pass up a theme, Depp proved Charles James proud in his coattails and cane (of course he added some signature style moves with a pocket watch and some colored shades.) And his fiancée stunned in a long-sleeved metallic Giambattista Valli design, teamed with red lips and a matching mani.

Beyonce and Jay Z Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Jay Z and Beyoncé: Don’t make us say it. Okay, we saved the best for last. First lest tackle Beyoncé. The singer stunned in a sheer mesh heavily-embellished Stella McCartney gown and matching head-piece. And Jay kept is sleek in a white Tom Ford jacket and black tuxedo pants, naturally.
