Editor’s Picks: The 5 Best Looks from Monday

We're halfway through New York Fashion Week — and while many shows have left to show, today featured moments of elegance in ease and shape. But a few looks standing out from the rest: both The Row and Carolina Herrera used form as a base — and the results were lovely. Rosie Assoulin continues to impress as a fresh talent on the circuit, while Phillip Lim offered a simple yet sophisticated notion of evening. Below, our top picks of the day:

Last night at Edun, Danielle Sherman gave the ladies what they want: comfort. We mean that in the best possible way — women everywhere are opting for ease, and the runways recognize that nor more then than ever it seems.  Here, the fuzzy sweater and slouchy pants look soft and sumptuous, and pairing the baggy pants with Stan Smiths was just about as cool as it gets.

At The Row, luxuriously oversize knits were noted as "fur cashmere." This voluminous sweater and skirt duo seemed the ideal pieces to cozy up under throughout this extreme weather.  Without any bells and whistles, it’s really all one needs.

Rosie Assoulin continues to impress with her artful takes on glamorous dressing. This gown was undeniably gorgeous from afar, and up close, the attention to detail was just as impressive: the pleats are hand-painted.

Phillip Lim can be counted on for a pretty dress when it comes to evening attire, so when this look — a ruffled, asymmetric sleeve knit paired with a relaxed satin trouser — walked the runway, we paid attention.

Monday mornings with Carolina Herrera are refreshingly elegant, and this voluminous gown, featuring her geometric mountain print, was no exception. With a full shape trailing behind the model, it's surely a dress to make an exit in.
