We’re so used to seeing actress Joanne Froggatt all covered up in the shabby maid costume she wears on Downton Abbey. Which is why we did a double take when we first saw her in the sexy ensemble that she wore to the premiere of her film Filth in London Monday night.

While this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a Downton Abbey star in a look unbefitting of their character on the show (hello, Michelle Dockery’s backless Prada gown at the Emmys!), we’re certain that this body-hugging number would send the Dowager Countess running for her fainting couch.
Far from the drab, body-concealing frocks that Froggatt’s character Anna Bates wears, the actress looked stunning in a super-fitted, colorblock bandage dress by Hervé Léger. The light blue panel nipped in her tiny waist, the purple off-the-shoulder straps showed off just enough cleavage and the navy blue skirt clung to her curves for a total va-va-voom effect.
Then she upped the vixen factor even more with a pair of strappy heels, a golden clutch and some very smoky eyes. Sultry, voluminous waves on her normally straight blonde hair added a sexy finishing touch.
Froggatt’s bombshell look is a dramatic departure from the servant clothes she wears on the show — and though Anna Bates would be shocked, we have a feeling she’d secretly be pretty into it.
What do you think of Froggatt’s out-of-character style?
