If you had a long day on Sunday and decided to hit the sack early, boy, do we feel sorry for you. Because as you were getting your precious shut eye, Kim Kardashian was busy breaking the Internet yet again, but this time with a choice series of Snapchats instead of with pictures of her bare bottom. But even though Kim and Taylor Swift had some choice words for one another via social media last night regarding the role the pop star did or did not play in the creation of Kanye West’s song “Famous,” the pair might actually have a whole lot more in common than they previously thought.
For example, both celebrities have had a mildly controversial (though nowhere near as controversial as the situation they’re currently embroiled in) bleach blonde moment. Kim kicked things off, dyeing her hair a pristine shade of peroxide blonde to change up her look for Paris Fashion Week in March 2015, a shade that quickly garnered her comparisons to Draco Malfoy and which was gone almost as quickly as it appeared.
Likewise, Taylor went her particular shade of “bleachella” to grace the cover of Vogue, ditching her country roots and retro buttoned-up style in favor of looks with a little more rock and roll edge. Though it seemed like the pop star might stick to the white-blonde look for a minute, after her new relationship with Tom Hiddleston was made paparazzi shot-official, she quickly went back to her old bob.

And as improbable as it may seem, both ladies are a fan of the matching set in a bold primary hue. Though it’s hard to imagine two women with more opposite senses of style, a two-piece look is the one place where these ladies can finally find common ground. Though Taylor’s tend to be full-coverage with a 50s-inspired full skirt and Kim’s lean more towards the skintight, plunging variety, we think both can agree there’s nothing quite like the ease of coordinated separates.

And let’s not forget, they both appeared on the cover of the magazine whose controversial interview set a match to the firework of this whole feud. Taylor first starred on GQ‘s cover back in October 2015, in a slightly risqué photo shoot for the usually tame pop star.

Kim’s cover and semi-clothed spread came out just last month, and in her interview for the piece she dropped the truth bomb that launched a thousand ships, suggesting that there was video proof of Kanye reading the controversial lyric to Taylor and getting her approval prior to the song’s release. And lo and behold, thanks to the wonder of Snapchat, now the entire world has also seen said video about ten million times over.
