When you think of Daniel Radcliffe, you might picture him in his wizard robes, or in a sharply tailored suit for his red carpet appearances. Which is why you may not recognize him in his New York Times Magazine cover, below — or looking chic and slightly rumpled in the spread inside.
The profile trails Radcliffe through a wild few days at the Venice Film Festival, where he was promoting his new indie film “Kill Your Darlings.” And it tracks him as he greets fans, dodges chaos and keeps his hair in check. “I’m sorry I’m acting like I care about my hair,” he tells the reporter, “but [my hairdresser] gave me strict instructions not to make him look like an ass.”
We learn what it’s like to deal with hundreds of adoring fans constantly (nerve-wracking) as well as what happens when he gets tired or stressed (one eye blinks more slowly than the other: “It’s what Homer Simpson’s eyes do when he’s drunk,” he says).
