The Mad Max: Fury Road star, 40, paired the head-turning look with a matching mirrored Jimmy Choo box clutch, black Gianvito Rossi "Darci" heels, an Effy Jewelry ring, and curved diamond earrings by Graziela Gems.

Since her look was intensely shiny, Theron opted for a dark, vampy statement lip in a matte finish, and went for a similar dark shade for her nails and toes. The mom of two wore her signature short hair in a side-swept pixie style.

But the South African native, who is clearly confident in this piece, wants young girls to find the same self-worth in themselves. "There's nothing sexier than a smart woman," she said at Glamour's The Power of an Educated Girl panel featuring Michelle Obama on Sept. 29. "We have been told to live by a certain mold, especially women, and it's time to break it. It's up to us to do that… Look in the mirror and see yourself and say, 'I am sexy, I am attractive, I am smart, I am intelligent, I am powerful. I have a voice, I look cute in these jeans.'"
The dripping-in-sequins look is something we've noticed on the red carpet a lot lately, starting with Allison Williams at the Fashion Group International's Night of Stars Gala in NYC on Oct. 22 in a dark gold Lanvin frock. Lea Seydoux went for a brighter vibe in a silvery gold Prada number at the London premiere of Spectre on Monday, Oct. 26.
