Coming out strong! Carrie Underwood teased Us with her dresses for the 2016 CMA Awards in a series of Instagram posts ahead of the Nashville ceremony on Wednesday, November 2. But the nine-time host, who’s sharing her duties once again with Brad Paisley, did not disappoint with her very first look of the night on the red carpet.
The “Before He Cheats” singer, 33, killed it in a Michael Cinco beaded halter dusty pink gown with a plunging neckline. The sparkling, floor-sweeping number was encrusted with Swarovski crystals, pearls and organza flowers all over. And you can bet your bottom dollar that the American Idol alum didn’t go demure when it came to her accessories. She chose triangle-shaped Butani diamond earrings and diamond rings by Hearts on Fire and Harry Kotlar.
”This is one of my favorite dresses from the collection,” Cinco, who’s also designed for Julianne Hough, tells Stylish. “I have worked with Carrie Underwood in the past and though this is completely different than anything I have ever seen her in, this is perfect for a red carpet like the CMAs.”
Even though stars including Beyonce, Faith Hill and Jennifer Garner are attending the event, in its fiftieth year, Underwood will definitely stand out in the crowd. She revealed that her decade-spanning wardrobe choices pay homage to the history of the show. Her eighties look contains black and purple beads, while her 2000s-inspired ensemble involves lots of leopard print. And there’s also another consistent feature among her choices: fringe. “The great thing about Country Music fashion is that #fringe works in any era!” she wrote on November 1.
